Darshana Rajendran
Biography
Darshana Rajendran is an Indian actress primarily working in the Malayalam film industry. She made her acting debut with John Paul Vaathil Thurakkunnu (2014) and went on to appear in Samarpanam (2017) and the Tamil film Kavan (2017). Her performance in Aashiq Abu’s Mayaanadhi (2017) brought her wider recognition.
She has since appeared in notable films such as Virus (2019, Aashiq Abu), Koode (2018, Anjali Menon), Vijay Superum Pournamiyum (2019, Jis Joy), and Thuramukham (2023, Rajeev Ravi), along with roles in Tamil cinema.
Born and schooled in Saudi Arabia, Darshana graduated in Mathematics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, and completed a Master’s in Financial Economics from City, University of London. She worked in microeconomics in Chennai before pursuing acting, participating in numerous stage performances that fueled her passion for the craft.
Her breakthrough as a lead came with the experimental digital film C U Soon (2020), shot during the pandemic, followed by Irul (2021) with Fahadh Faasil. These films established her as a bankable lead actor. She later appeared in anthology films and the commercially and critically successful Hridayam (2022), playing a character sharing her name, and starred in the mini-series Unpaused: Naya Safar (2022).
Darshana has also contributed as a playback singer in films like Hridayam, Sarcas Circa, and Vijay Superum Pournamiyum. Her upcoming projects include Dear Friend (2022), The Harbour, and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya He.
