David Procter

Biography

David is a British cinematographer and director of photography based between London and Los Angeles. He is an alumnus of the Berlinale Talents program and has built a career across feature films, television, documentaries, and international commercials.

 

His feature-film debut, Bypass, premiered in competition at the Venice Film Festival and earned recognition at Camerimage and the Goldeneye Film Festival. He followed it with Blood Cells, which also premiered at Venice and received critical acclaim, including a nomination for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

David made his episodic television debut with Netflix's supernatural drama The Innocents, starring Guy Pearce, which was filmed across Norway and the United Kingdom. 

 

His cinematography has also received recognition at events including the Cannes Lions, MTV Video Music Awards, and Abu Dhabi Film Festival, along with multiple Camerimage Golden Frog nominations and a BIFA nomination.

 

He has continued to balance narrative filmmaking with international commercial work. One of his notable later projects was Black Beauty, directed by Ashley Avis and starring Mackenzie Foy, Kate Winslet, Iain Glen, and Claire Forlani.
