Over the years, he has built a career spanning television dramas, action series, feature films, and directing. He is also recognised for playing Anton Briggs in Dexter and Mayor Carter Poole in Blue Bloods.

David Ramsey was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Mumford High School before studying at Wayne State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree through the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.

His education helped prepare him for a career in acting and performance. Alongside his artistic training, he developed an interest in martial arts, which later became a valuable part of his work in action and superhero productions.

Ramsey is an experienced martial artist with a black belt in Jeet Kune Do. He has also studied boxing and Taekwondo and trained in kickboxing under Benny “The Jet” Urquidez.
