David Russo

Biography

David Russo is a composer, producer, and songwriter.

His most recent credits include the music behind the hit Fox series "Gotham," and it's acclaimed, highly-stylized spin-off, "Pennyworth".

Russo has worked in the studio or toured with artists such as Rage Against the Machine, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Sheryl Crowe, 50-Cent, Paul Weller, Crowded House, producer Rick Rubin, Bone, Thugs and Harmony, Dave Navarro, and Stevie Nicks. He also worked in the studio with Paul Westerberg and The Replacements on their album "All Shook Down" but was fired within one hour.

Russo has contributed to over 150 films, TV shows, documentaries, and commercials, for Directors such as Robert Rodriguez, Adam McKay, David Gordon-Green, Michael Mann, and Barry Levinson.

Before composing full-time for film and television, Russo was a fixture on L.A.'s indy-rock scene. He was a founding member of the alt-rock band Sun-60. Sony's Epic Records signed the band and they released three critically-acclaimed CDs over five years, touring the world in support of their albums.

A native of Los Angeles, Russo was immersed in music from a young age and was offered a prestigious scholarship to the renowned Paris Sorbonne University while still in high school. He is a graduate of UCLA.
