David Hattersley Warner (July 29, 1941 – July 24, 2022) was a distinguished English actor whose career spanned six decades across stage, film, and television. Known for his lanky appearance and versatile talent, he excelled at playing both romantic leads and a variety of complex characters, including sinister villains.

 

 

 

🌟 Early Life and The Royal Shakespeare Company

Born in Manchester, England, Warner attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His career began in the theatre, most notably with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). He made his stage debut in 1962 and gained early prominence in 1964 for playing King Henry VI in the Wars of the Roses cycle. His acclaimed performance as Hamlet for the RSC in 1965 cemented his reputation as a leading classical actor.

Warner quickly transitioned to screen roles, often showcasing his unique ability to blend high drama with eccentricity.
