Debapriyo Bagchi
Biography
Debapriyo Bagchi a.k.a. Bubble is an actor known for his television roles from the advent of satellite TV in Kolkata, West Bengal. He started his television journey with Anjan Dutta’s Half Chocolate (2000), about a band where he played the lead character of the drummer named Bongo, alongside Parambrata, Neel, and Mou.
Over the years Debapriyo/Bubble has acted in TV serials like Spandan, Ekdin Protidin, Banhishikha, Ekhane Akash Neel, Mainak Upakhyan, Chena Mukher Shaari, Agniparikkha etc.
He has also done several made for tv films or telefilms for directors like Anjan Dutta, Raja Dasgupta, Anindo Banerjee, Anindya Sarkar, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Raj Chakrabarti and several others. He was also well known for hosting and anchoring television shows like Dosh Minuter Khel and Hothat Honeymoon.
More recently he has forayed into the world of Web series’ for Hoichoi, playing the part of Pramatha in the Eken Babu trio. He has starred in the first 3 of the 4 seasons of the series and is slated to appear in the following seasons as well. He also played a lead character in Debaloy Bhattacharya’s experimental web series Pabitra Puppies, which was shot from his apartment in Chicago during the peak Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
Debapriyo/Bubble has also made a name as a vocalist mainly singing English and Bengali numbers in the live music scene in Kolkata, the rest of Bengal, and other states of Eastern India. He has been a part of bands like Nucleus, Yatakas, Jay & the Krackers, Altered Karma, etc. His music has been released by HMV Saregama in 2 compilation albums in Bengali.
Currently Debapriyo/Bubble lives in Chicago, USA, and continues to pursue his passions in music and acting.
