Biography

Denis Crossan, BSC, is a Scottish cinematographer known for his work in film, television, music videos, and commercials. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and developed an interest in visual arts before pursuing a career in cinematography.

Crossan studied graphic design at the Glasgow School of Art and later trained in cinematography at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England. His education combined visual design with technical filmmaking skills, providing a strong foundation for his career behind the camera.

Early in his career, Crossan worked extensively on music videos and commercials, collaborating with prominent directors and advertising agencies. His cinematography work in advertising earned him several industry honors, including Clio Awards, Creative Circle Awards, and D&AD awards.

In 1993, Crossan became a member of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC), reflecting his standing within the cinematography profession. He subsequently expanded into feature films and television, building a diverse body of work.

His notable screen credits include the horror thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), the psychological thriller The Hole (2001), and the action thriller Asher (2018).
