Born on January 23, 1970, in Texas, Derek Haas developed an early interest in storytelling and film. He studied at Baylor University, where he honed his writing skills and began pursuing screenwriting as a profession.

 

 

Haas first gained recognition in Hollywood through his frequent collaboration with screenwriter Michael Brandt. Together, they co-wrote several successful films, including 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and Wanted (2008).
