Biography

Dharmesh Yelande, popularly known as Dharmesh Sir, was born on October 31, 1983, in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. From an early age, he showed a deep interest in dance, drawing inspiration from Bollywood films and street dance styles. Despite limited resources, his passion and dedication helped him master various dance forms, including hip-hop, locking, popping, and contemporary.

Rise to Fame

Dharmesh rose to fame through his participation in the dance reality show Dance India Dance (Season 2) in 2009, where his unique style and powerful performances made him a fan favorite. His immense talent and humility earned him recognition across India, and he soon became one of the most celebrated dancers in the country.

Following his success, he appeared in several other reality shows such as Dance India Dance Li’l Masters, Dance Ke Superstars, and Dance Plus, where he showcased not only his dancing skills but also his leadership and mentoring abilities.

Film Career

Dharmesh made his Bollywood debut with ABCD: Any Body Can Dance (2013), directed by Remo D’Souza. His natural screen presence and dynamic dance moves received high praise, leading to his appearances in ABCD 2 (2015) and Street Dancer 3D (2020). Apart from Hindi cinema, he has also worked in Marathi films and regional dance projects, further establishing his versatility as a performer.

Television & Mentorship

Beyond performing, Dharmesh has been a mentor and judge on several reality shows, including Dance Plus, where he guided young dancers and helped nurture new talent. His approachable personality and dedication to the art form have made him a beloved figure among aspiring dancers.
