Prabhavalkar pursued his education in science, earning a B.Sc. from Ramnarain Ruia College and an M.Sc. in Biophysics from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Initially working in the pharmaceutical industry, he later transitioned to acting, dedicating himself fully to the performing arts in 1991.
