Born on February 2, 1979, in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India, he has become one of the most successful figures in the Bhojpuri entertainment industry.
Early Life and Education
Dinesh Lal Yadav hails from a family with a rich tradition in folk music, particularly the Biraha genre. His cousins, Vijay Lal Yadav, known as the "Biraha Samrat," and lyricist Pyare Lal Yadav (Kaviji), have significantly contributed to Bhojpuri music. He spent his formative years in the Belghoria area of Kolkata, where his father worked in a factory. Yadav completed his education in the suburbs of Kolkata.
Music Career
Yadav began his career as a Biraha singer, gaining early recognition with his debut music album "Nirahua Satal Rahe" in 2003. The album's success earned him the nickname "Nirahua," which means "an abiding husband."
Acting Career
In 2006, Yadav made his acting debut with the Bhojpuri film "Humka Aisa Waisa Na Samjha." He gained widespread popularity with films like "Chalat Mushafir Moh Liyo Re" (2006), "Nirahua Rikshaw Wala" (2008), and "Pratigya" (2008). His natural acting style and dedication to his roles endeared him to audiences.
In 2012, Yadav appeared alongside Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in the Bhojpuri film "Ganga Devi," further elevating his status in the industry. The same year, he participated in the reality TV show "Bigg Boss 6," showcasing his engaging personality to a national audience.
His 50th film, "Nirahua Hindustani" (2014), was a significant hit and marked a milestone in his career. He continued to deliver successful films, including "Patna Se Pakistan" (2015) and "Border" (2018), which are among the highest-grossing Bhojpuri movies. In 2019, Yadav ventured into the digital space with the web series "Hero Vardiwala," becoming the first Bhojpuri actor to debut on an OTT platform.
Political Career
Yadav entered politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2019. He contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election from the Azamgarh constituency but was defeated by Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. In the 2022 bypolls, he won the Azamgarh seat, defeating Samajwadi Party candidate Dharmendra Yadav by a margin of 8,700 votes.

Dinesh Lal Yadav is married to Mansha Yadav, and the couple has two sons, Aditya and Amit, and a daughter, Aditi.
