Donald Sutherland was born on July 17, 1935, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He studied at the University of Toronto, originally intending to become an engineer, but soon shifted his focus to drama. He later trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), launching a prolific acting career that spanned over six decades.
