Biography
Dorothy Tristan (May 9, 1934 – January 7, 2023) was an American actress and screenwriter, best known for her roles in the films Klute (1971) and Scarecrow (1973). She also co-wrote several films, including Weeds (1987) and Steal the Sky (1988). Tristan had a diverse career in film and television, with notable appearances in Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986) and The Looking Glass (2015).
Tristan began her career as a model, appearing on the covers of Vogue and Life magazines. She made her film debut in End of the Road (1970), directed by her first husband, Aram Avakian. She later married director John D. Hancock in 1975, with whom she collaborated on several projects. Tristan passed away on January 7, 2023, at the age of 88.
