Eli Jorne
Biography
Eli Jorné was born on October 22, 1979. He grew up in Michigan and pursued a graduate degree in plasma physics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Despite his scientific background, Jorné transitioned into the entertainment industry, focusing on television writing and production.
Comedy Beginnings
Jorné began his television career in the comedy genre. He served as an executive producer and co-executive producer on FX's Wilfred (2011–2014), where he also contributed as a writer. He co-created and executive-produced the animated/live-action hybrid series Son of Zorn (2016) for Fox. Additionally, he worked as a co-executive producer on the Starz comedy series Blunt Talk (2015).
Transition to Drama
Expanding into drama, Jorné joined the writing team of AMC's The Walking Dead in 2019, contributing to Season 10. He wrote episodes such as "What It Always Is" and co-wrote "Walk With Us" and "A Certain Doom." He also served as a consulting producer for the latter part of Season 11.
In 2023, Jorné became the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of The Walking Dead: Dead City, a spin-off series focusing on characters Maggie and Negan navigating a post-apocalyptic Manhattan. He has written multiple episodes across the first two seasons.
Jorné also served as an executive producer on the Starz wrestling drama series Heels (2021–2023), which explores the lives of two brothers involved in professional wrestling in small-town Georgia.
