Career
Macpherson began modeling in the early 1980s and quickly became one of the most recognizable fashion models of her generation. She appeared on the covers of numerous international magazines and became particularly associated with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, appearing on its cover several times.
She also pursued acting, appearing in films such as Alice (1990), Sirens (1994), The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996), and The Edge (1997). On television, she had a recurring role as Janine LaCroix on the sitcom Friends.
