Biography
Erin Richards is a Welsh actress and director born in Penarth, Wales, in 1983. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and began her career presenting the Welsh-language youth program Mosgito before appearing in short films and television dramas such as Crash and Being Human.
Her international breakthrough came in 2012 when she joined the FOX comedy Breaking In as a regular cast member. She later appeared in the horror film Open Grave, starring alongside Sharlto Copley.
Richards is best known for portraying Barbara Kean in Gotham from 2014 to 2019. During the show's final season, she expanded her role behind the camera by directing the episode The Trial of Jim Gordon. In addition to her acting and directing career, she has spoken about her family life, revealing in a 2025 interview that she was raising a young son and expecting her second child.
