Biography

Eedara Veera Venkata Satyanarayana, popularly known as E.V.V. Satyanarayana, was a renowned Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who made a lasting mark on Telugu cinema. He was born on June 10, 1956, in Korumamidi village, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Coming from a modest background, Satyanarayana’s journey to the film industry was fueled by his passion for cinema and storytelling.

 

He initially faced several struggles before entering the film world, but eventually found his footing through sheer determination and talent.

 

 

Career:
E.V.V. Satyanarayana began his film career as an assistant director under the legendary Jandhyala, a well-known filmmaker famous for his family-oriented comedies. Under Jandhyala’s mentorship, Satyanarayana honed his skills in humor, timing, and screenplay writing.

 

He made his directorial debut with the film “Chevilo Puvvu”, but his first major success came with “Prema Khaidi” (1990), which introduced actor Vikram to Telugu audiences. After this breakthrough, E.V.V. became known for his versatility — directing films across various genres including comedy, family drama, and action.

 

 

His signature style was a blend of situational humor and strong emotional undercurrents. Some of his most popular films include:

Personal Life:
E.V.V. Satyanarayana was married to Saraswathi, and the couple had two sons — Allari Naresh and Aryan Rajesh, both of whom went on to become actors in the Telugu film industry.

Death and Legacy:


E.V.V. Satyanarayana passed away on January 21, 2011, due to cardiac arrest. His death was a great loss to the Telugu film fraternity.

 

He is remembered as a filmmaker who brought laughter and emotion to millions through his movies. His legacy endures through the work of his sons and the timeless comedy films he left behind, which continue to entertain audiences today.
