Finn Jones

Biography

Some people don't want to be pigeonholed in roles or genres, but Finn Jones made his early mark in both horror and fantasy while finding a way to get out from the shadow of a similarly-named actor.

Jones, who was born on March 24, 1988, had the birth name of Terence Jones; to avoid confusion with the iconic Monty Python member Terry Jones, Jones decided to change his first name to Finn to avoid any confusion.

After finishing his three-year program at The Arts Educational School, he dove into acting, appearing in a series of British TV shows before getting cast in his first Hollywood project, the low-budget horror sequel "Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines" (2012).

Before that film was released, Jones was cast in the role that gave him instant public visibility: the knight Ser Loras Tyrell on the epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones" (HBO 2011-).

Jones shared the spotlight with such luminaries as Sean Bean, Lena Hedley, and Peter Dinklage, an impressive company for a young actor near the start of his career. Hot on the heels of his work as Tyrell, Jones co-starred in Caspar Van Dien's "Sleeping Beauty" (2014), in which he played the heroic footman Barrow.
