Firdous Begum was one of the most celebrated and charismatic actresses of Pakistani cinema, especially known for her remarkable work during the golden era of Lollywood in the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Lahore, she began her film career in the mid-1960s and quickly rose to fame for her graceful screen presence and emotional depth.

 

Firdous became a household name with her iconic role in the Punjabi film Heer Ranjha (1970), where she played the legendary character of Heer opposite Ejaz Durrani's Ranjha. The film, noted for its poetic dialogues and musical richness, remains a classic in Pakistani cinema, and her portrayal is often regarded as one of the most memorable performances by a female lead in Lollywood history.

 

Over the course of her career, Firdous starred in more than 150 films across Punjabi and Urdu cinema, showcasing her versatility in both romantic and dramatic roles.
