She is the daughter of British film director and producer Tariq Anwar and actress Shirley Hills. Gabrielle attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, where she trained in drama and dance. With her elegant screen presence and diverse acting abilities, she has become a recognizable figure in both film and television.

 

Career:

Gabrielle Anwar began her acting career in British television during the late 1980s, with appearances in series like First Born and Press Gang. Her move to Hollywood in the early 1990s marked a turning point, launching her into more prominent roles.

 

One of her most iconic performances came in Scent of a Woman (1992), where she danced the memorable tango with Al Pacino—an elegant scene that remains one of the most beloved in modern cinema.
