Gairik Sarkar
Biography
Gairik Sarkar is an Indian cinematographer who started his career with the 2010 independent film Bodhisattva, for which he was the assistant director and also played a supporting role. In 2015, he made his debut as a cinematographer with the Hindi movie X Past is Present, about a filmmaker with a midlife crisis.
Gairik was also the editor of the film. He then worked in the 2016 Hindi movie Te3n as an editor and was the cinematographer for director Pratim D Gupta`s Bengali film Shaheb Bibi Golam.
His 2017 ventures as a cinematographer include the drama movie Durga Sohay, under the direction of Arindam Sil, and Bibaho Diaries, which revolves around a couple who work hard to tackle different obstacles in their life.
Gairik`s other project in the year includes Shob Bhooturey, directed by Birsa Dasgupta starring Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar as the leads, and Ida Dasgupta in a significant role. In 2018, Gairak was part of Anjan Dutt`s Aami Ashbo Phirey and Birsa Dasgupta`s Crisscross. His 2019 release includes Shah Jahan Regency.
