Biography
Geofrey Hildrew is an American film and television editor and director, born on September 15 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is known for his work on television series and feature films, particularly in drama, fantasy, thriller, and genre productions. He holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Columbia University and an MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California.
Hildrew began his career in development, working as an intern at Martin Scorsese's Cappa Productions under producer Barbara De Fina and later at the Steve Tisch Company. He subsequently established himself in post-production, working as an assistant editor on projects including Monk, The Bachelor, Night Stalker, Day Break, Dirty Sexy Money, and The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
He gained major recognition as an editor on ABC's fantasy series Once Upon a Time, contributing to all seven seasons and also directing three episodes. His other television editing credits include V, The Walking Dead, The Tick, Amazing Stories, True Story, Painkiller, Carnival Row, American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, and The Bondsman.
His feature-film work includes Careful What You Wish For, Things Never Said, and The Devil You Know. For Things Never Said, he also served as executive producer.
Hildrew is a member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE), British Film Editors (BFE), and Directors Guild of America (DGA), and serves as Co-Chair of ACE's Membership Committee.
