Georges Corraface

Biography

Georges Corraface (born December 7, 1952) is a French-Greek actor known for his work in French, Greek, American, and international cinema and television. Born in Paris, France, to Greek parents, he developed an interest in acting and studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris.

Corraface began his professional career in French theatre and cinema during the 1970s. His international appearance, commanding presence, and ability to perform in several languages helped him establish a career across European and American productions.

Among his notable film credits are Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992), Escape from L.A. (1996), The Mahabharata (1989), La Femme Nikita (1990), The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and Deep in the Woods (2000).

In Christopher Columbus: The Discovery, directed by John Glen, Corraface portrayed Christopher Columbus, the explorer who receives support from the Spanish Crown to undertake his westward voyage. The film starred Marlon Brando, Tom Selleck, Rachel Ward, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Corraface has also worked extensively in Greek cinema and television and has appeared in productions from France, Italy, Spain, Britain, and the United States. His performances have included historical figures, dramatic protagonists, and complex supporting characters.
