Gracie Otto is an Australian director, writer, editor, and producer known for her distinctive storytelling and dynamic visual style. Born on May 23, 1987, in Sydney, New South Wales, she is the daughter of acclaimed actor Barry Otto and the sister of actress Miranda Otto. Growing up in a creative family, Gracie developed a passion for film and performance early on, leading her to pursue a career in filmmaking.

 

 

Otto gained international attention with her debut feature documentary The Last Impresario (2013), which explored the life of influential British theatre and film producer Michael White. The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival and received widespread acclaim for its vibrant portrayal of London’s cultural scene.

 

 

Since then, Otto has directed and produced numerous projects across film and television, including episodes of Heartbreak High (2022), The Other Guy, Bump, and The Moth Effect. She is celebrated for her sharp direction and ability to bring depth and authenticity to complex characters and stories.
