Gugu Gumede is a talented South African actress best known for her portrayal of the beloved character MaMlambo in the popular television soap opera Uzalo. Born on 10 December 1991 in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, she is the daughter of the late politician Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi and the late Simon Hulumeni Gumede. From a young age, she displayed a passion for the performing arts and later pursued formal acting training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.
After returning to South Africa in 2013, Gumede began her professional acting career with a role as Mandisa in the television drama Generations.
