Gurjinder Singh Gavy, widely known as Gavy Singh, is a respected student leader and social advocate based in Australia. Originally from Rotanwāli village in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Gurjinder has dedicated his career to empowering youth and supporting the Indian diaspora.
As President of the Student Union India–Australia (AISU), Gurjinder has led a range of initiatives to assist international students, including airport pickups, temporary accommodation, job placement support, and cultural integration programs. His leadership has helped hundreds of students build a strong foundation in Australia.


Beyond student welfare, Gurjinder is deeply committed to strengthening India–Australia relations through social outreach, cultural diplomacy, and advocacy for migrant rights. His work has earned him recognition across both Indian and Australian communities for his integrity, compassion, and strategic vision.


On August 26, 2025, Gurjinder was appointed National General Secretary of the Indian Overseas Youth Congress (IOYC), Australia. Endorsed by Rahul Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, Manoj Sihore, and Dr. Aarti Krishna, this role entrusts him with advancing youth leadership, global cooperation, and civic engagement among the Indian diaspora.
