Gurkirtan Chauhan

Biography

Gurkirtan Chauhan (6 September 1951 – 2 March 2009), often credited as Gurkirtan, was an Indian actor known for his work in Punjabi and Hindi cinema. He appeared in numerous films, including "Taare Zameen Par," "Tabaahi," "Jatt Jeona Mour," "Waris Shah: Ishq Daa Waaris," and "Shaheed-E-Mohabbat Boota Singh."

 

After earning a degree in civil engineering from the Chandigarh College of Architecture, he shifted his focus to acting, beginning his career in theatre. His breakout role was as Dogar, the antagonist in the hit film "Jatt Jeona Mour."

 

Gurkirtan married Paramjit Kaur in 1984 and was the father of two children. He passed away on 3 March 2009 due to cardiac arrest.
