Guru Somasundaram

Biography

Guru Somasundaram is an Indian film actor who is mainly known for his work in the South Indian film industry. After establishing himself as a respected Tamil theatre actor, he made his film debut in 2011 with a supporting role in the neo-noir black comedy Aaranya Kaandam.

 

 Since then, he has appeared in critically acclaimed movies like 5 Sundarikal (2013), Pandiya Naadu (2013), Jigarthanda (2014), Thoongaa Vanam (2015), Joker (2016) and Kuttrame Thandanai (2016). Notable film credits also include 49-O (2015) and Yaakkai (2017).

For his performance in Jigarthanda, Guru was nominated for a Vijay Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013. He is associated with the 2017 movie Grahanam directed by Elan, Vanjagar Ulagam (2018) and Odu Raja Odu (2018). His 2019 releases include NGK, Kolaigaran, and Asuran.
