Harley Peyton
Biography
Harley Peyton is an American screenwriter and television producer known for his work in film and television. He has written for several notable productions, including Less Than Zero, Bandits, Twin Peaks, Channel Zero, Chucky, and Reginald the Vampire.
Early Career
Peyton studied at Harvard and Stanford before beginning his professional career as a screenwriter. During the 1980s and 1990s, he worked primarily on feature films and contributed screenwriting revisions to several Hollywood productions.
His first major film credit was Less Than Zero (1987), directed by Marek Kanievska and starring Andrew McCarthy, Jami Gertz, and Robert Downey Jr. Peyton adapted Bret Easton Ellis's novel for the screen.
Twin Peaks
Peyton became particularly associated with television through Twin Peaks, the influential mystery drama created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. He worked as both a writer and producer on the original series and received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series for the episode "Episode 3."
