Biography
Hemangi Kavi is an Indian actress and model who primarily works in Marathi films and television, while also appearing in Hindi productions. She was born on 26 August 1980 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Sir J. J. School of Art and initially worked as a web designer before pursuing acting and theatre.
Kavi began her television career in the early 2000s with the Marathi series Vadalvaat, and subsequently appeared in shows such as Avaghachi Sansar, Fu Bai Fu, Phulpakharu, Mrs. Mukhyamantri, Lek Majhi Durga, and Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye. She has also appeared in Hindi projects including Teri Laadli Main, Guilty Minds, Taali, and Do Gubbare.
She made her Marathi film debut with Dhudgus (2008) and went on to appear in films such as Kon Aahe Re Tikade (2010), Davpech (2010), Pangira (2011), Pipani (2012), Gadad Jambhal, Savita Damodar Paranjpe (2018), Bandishala (2019), Pandu (2021), Tamasha Live (2022), and Lifeline (2024).
One of her notable performances came in Savita Damodar Paranjpe (2018), where she played the title character. She also appeared as the Sutradhar in Tamasha Live and played Murli's mother in the Hindi sports drama Chandu Champion (2024).
Her performance in Pipani (2012) earned her the Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar for Best Supporting Actress. She also received the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for Ticha Shahar Hona.
