Hemanti Sarkar
Biography
Having studied film and video editing from FTTI, Pune, Hemanti started working closely with award-winning editor Renu Saluja, who was one of the first women editors in India and also a pioneer in the New Age Cinema Movement. The Mumbai-based editor started her career as an editor in 2002 with the Lucky Ali-starrer Sur: The Melody of Life.
Next, she worked on Parineeta, for which she won the Producers Guild Film Awards for Best Editing. Among her many other movie credits are Sankat City, Peepli (Live), English Vinglish, Shamitabh, Airlift, Dear Zindagi, Secret Superstar, and Bala.
