Biography
Imtiaz Patel. Writer: Ittefaq. Imtiaz Patel is known for Ittefaq (2001), Chalo Ishq Ladaaye (2002), and Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999).
Noted film, theatre, and television writer-director Imtiaz Patel breathed his last on 27th March in Bombay. He was 57 and is survived by his mother, wife, son, daughter, and two brothers.
He had contracted swine flu last year. After that, he tested positive for coronavirus, from which he had recovered. But post-recovery, his health was not steady.
His condition deteriorated on the 27th morning and he passed away the same evening. He was cremated the same night.
Imtiaz Patel had written a number of films, TV shows, and stage-plays. After doing stage, he entered television writing with Ekta Kapoor’s Padosan.
He wrote hundreds of episodes of Ekta Kapoor’s super-popular TV serial, Hum Paanch, and serials like Chamatkar, Professor Pyarelal, and Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh.
He penned/co-penned the screenplay and/or dialogues for Kitne Door Kitne Paas, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Yeh Hai Jalwa, Chalo Ishq Ladaaye, and Jodi No. 1.
He had also written the dialogues for Xcuse Me! and Raja Bhaiya. He had written and co-produced Smile Please and written, produced, and directed CD Kand.
Imtiaz Patel was also the writer and director of the Gujarati film Gujju Rocks.
