Biography
An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Inaamulhaq was born on Nov 14, 1979, in Saharanpur-Uttar Pradesh. He first appeared on stage at the age of twelve. Later, he joined the 'Indian People's Theatre Association' and acted in numerous plays as a lead.
In Mumbai, he started his career as a writer for TV shows. After working as a 'Creative Consultant' with "Comedy Circus" for two and a half years, he moved on to films and wrote Dialogues for 'Buddha Hoga Terra Baap'(2011).
While earning his livelihood by writing for television, he kept his passion alive by appearing in self-written TV shows. He got his first film break with the critically acclaimed 'Firaaq' (2008).
His first Major role in a feature film was, as the Pakistani national, in Nitin Kakkar's National award winner 'Filmistaan' (2014), for which he was listed in "Top 10 Stand-Out Actors of 2014" by Mid-Day, and "The Most Prominent Debuts of 2014" by IBNlive.com in their Yearender. He is also listed in IMDB's "Top 200 Best Indian Actors and Actresses".
Inaamulhaq also appeared in Askhay Kumar's story 'Airlift'. He played the main antagonist Major Khalaf Bin Zayd in the evacuation drama based on Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. His performance in Airlift received a grand reception from the audience and the critics as well.
His cameo in Jolly LLB 2 caught the eyeballs of him as a Kashmiri. He also appeared in 'Lucknow Central' and 'Firangi' in an essential role and got praised for his performance in both films.
Inaamulhaq won the Best Actor award for his Recently released film Nakkash where he played the title role at DCSAIF (Washington DC) and IIFFB (Boston) The poster of Nakkash was launched at the Cannes Film Festival 2018.
