Biography
A trained dancer from Shiamak Davar`s dance academy, Ishaan Khatter, like his half-brother Shahid Kapoor, is an Indian film actor known for his work in Hindi movies. An alumnus of Billabong High School, Ishaan was born to Bollywood actors Neelima Azeem and Rajesh Khattar on the 1st of November, 1995.
Hailing from a family of actors, including his extended family, acting came naturally to Ishaan who, since the start, aspired to work with unconventional directors such as Majid Majidi.
Little did he know that he would actually bag the lead role in the Iranian film director`s Indian film debut, Beyond The Clouds. The movie opened at several film festivals in 2017 and went on to garner immense praise.
For his portrayal of Amir in the movie, he won the Best Actor award at the International Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey in 2017.
Much before making his debut as a lead actor, Ishaan was seen in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! in 2005 as a child actor. Collaborating with his half-brother again, Ishaan was seen making an uncredited cameo appearance in the critically acclaimed Udta Punjab.
After the release of Beyond The Cloud, Ishaan bagged the lead role in Karan Johar`s Hindi remake of the blockbuster hit Sairat titled Dhadak opposite newcomer Jahnvi Kapoor in the lead role.
He then starred in Khaali Peeli (20220) and the British miniseries A Suitable Boy (2020). Phone Bhoot (2022) featured him alongside Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi. His next was Pippa (2023).
