Jackie Chung
Biography
Jackie Chung, born July 10, 1979, is an American actress best known for playing Laurel Park in the romantic drama series The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022–2025). She has also appeared in television series including Grey's Anatomy, Station 19, and Deadbeat.
Early Life and Education
Chung graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She began her professional career in theater before moving into film and television.
Career
Chung made her on-screen debut as JC in the 2005 short film Take It or Leave It?. She later appeared in Finding My America (2006) and the short film Someone Else (2015), in which she played Kat/Yoo Jin. That same year, she appeared as Kamiko Nakamura in the television series Deadbeat.
In 2017, Chung portrayed Cleo Kim in Grey's Anatomy. Her breakthrough came in 2022 when she began starring as Laurel Park, the mother of Isabel "Belly" Conklin, played by Lola Tung, in The Summer I Turned Pretty. The series ran for three seasons through 2025 and brought Chung widespread recognition.
Personal Life
Jackie Chung is married to actor Louis Ozawa Changchien, and they have two children.
Through her work across theater and television, Chung has established herself as a versatile actress, with her role as Laurel Park remaining her most prominent screen performance.
