Biography
Jaikanth (Jai), the Tamil actor, is professionally known as Jai. His birth name is Jaikanth, and he was born on 6 April 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is an actor, musician, and singer who works mainly in Tamil cinema.
Career
Jai began his acting career with a supporting role in Bagavathi (2002). He gained wider recognition after being cast as one of the leads in Chennai 600028 (2007), directed by Venkat Prabhu. His performance in Subramaniapuram (2008) further established him as a leading actor.
He subsequently appeared in films such as Goa (2010), Engaeyum Eppothum (2011) and Raja Rani (2013). His performance in Raja Rani brought him considerable commercial popularity.
Jai comes from a musical family: he is the nephew of composer Deva and the cousin of music director Srikanth Deva.
