Biography
Jason Winer is an American director, producer, writer, actor, and comedian, born on December 7, 1972, in Baltimore, Maryland. He studied theater at Northwestern University and later became involved in improvisational comedy before moving into directing.
Winer gained major recognition for directing the pilot of the hit sitcom Modern Family. He directed numerous episodes of the series and served as a co-executive producer. His work earned him a 2010 Directors Guild of America Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as a producer of the series.
He made his feature-film directing debut with Arthur (2011), starring Russell Brand and Helen Mirren. His other television credits include Samantha Who?, New Girl, The Crazy Ones, Life in Pieces, Single Parents, Perfect Harmony, The Santa Clauses, and Going Dutch.
Winer has built a diverse career in television and film, particularly known for his work in comedy and character-driven storytelling.
