Biography

Jatinder Singh, born on March 5, 1989, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, is a prominent figure in Oman's cricketing landscape. A right-handed top-order batsman and occasional wicketkeeper, Singh has been instrumental in Oman's ascent in international cricket.​

 

Early Life and Migration

Singh moved to Oman with his family in 2003, where he attended the Indian School in Muscat. His father, Gurmail Singh, had previously relocated to Oman in 1975 to work for the Royal Oman Police. Jatinder's cricketing journey began in earnest in Oman, where he quickly progressed through the ranks.

 

Domestic and International Career

Singh made his debut for the Oman national team in January 2011 during the ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament. He gained prominence in the 2011 ACC Twenty20 Cup and the subsequent 2012 World Twenty20 Qualifier, where he emerged as Oman's leading run-scorer despite limited appearances.

 

His consistent performances earned him a spot in Oman's squad for various international tournaments, including the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two and the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two, where Oman secured ODI status. Singh made his ODI debut against Namibia on April 27, 2019.
