Biography
Jaume Collet-Serra is a Spanish film director and producer known for his work in thriller, horror, and action films. Born on 23 March 1974 in Sant Iscle de Vallalta, Catalonia, Spain, he developed an interest in filmmaking at a young age. At the age of eighteen, he moved to the United States to study film and pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Collet-Serra began his professional journey by directing music videos and commercials, where he gained valuable experience in visual storytelling and cinematic style. His talent for creating suspense and strong visual narratives soon helped him transition into feature films.
He made his directorial debut with the horror film House of Wax (2005), which brought him recognition in Hollywood. He later established himself as a successful filmmaker through suspense thrillers and action movies. His collaboration with actor Liam Neeson became especially notable, resulting in several successful films, including Unknown (2011), Non-Stop (2014), Run All Night (2015), and The Commuter (2018).
