Biography

Javier Alcina is a professional actor, director, and acting coach with an extensive international career spanning over 30 years in the industry.

 

 

 

Training and Early Career

Alcina graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London in 2000. While still a student, he secured a major role in the BBC period drama adaptation of Love in a Cold Climate, directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper, and featuring stars such as Rosamund Pike and Sir Alan Bates.

 

 

Following his graduation, in 2001, he was named a Fox Fellow by the William and Eva Fox Foundation of New York, which provided him with a fellowship to further his acting and directing studies. He continued his directorial training under world-renowned theatre director Anatoly Vasiliev in Moscow, Russia, and later in Lyon, France, working on classical texts in Russian, English, Spanish, and French.

 

 

 

International Career

Being fluent in multiple languages has allowed Alcina to work internationally across theatre, voiceover, television, and film in various countries, including Spain, England, Russia, France, China, Morocco, and the U.S.

 

 

He has been involved in diverse projects, including the television movie Pinochet in Suburbia for the BBC, and he has collaborated with notable talents such as Tom Hardy, Derek Jacobi, and Kenneth Branagh.
