Jayant Gupta

Biography

Jayant is an alumnus of Whistling Woods International, where he earned a Diploma in Screenwriting. His formal training helped him develop his skills in screenplay structure, character development and visual storytelling.

Over the course of his career, he has written six feature films and three web series, with several of these projects reaching different stages of production. His body of work demonstrates an ability to move between mainstream entertainment and more concept-driven stories.

Short Films and Digital Content

Jayant has written more than ten short films and over 15 comedy sketches. His digital work has collectively attracted more than 20 million views online, helping him build an audience beyond traditional film platforms.

One of his notable short films, Mera Number Kab Ayega, received a Filmfare 2022 nomination and was also recognized at several national and international film festivals. The recognition helped establish Jayant as an emerging writer with a distinctive voice in short-form storytelling.

Feature Films

Jayant has continued to develop feature-film projects across different genres. One of his recent projects is Dulhaniya Le Aayegi, a family entertainer that is currently in post-production. The film reflects his interest in combining emotional storytelling with accessible mainstream entertainment.

Another significant project is Pushpa I Love Tears, a high-concept screenplay that was selected among the top 25 entries from approximately 1,300 submissions at SWA Pitchfest 2024. The selection marked an important achievement in his screenwriting career and highlighted the originality of the concept.
