Jayant Sinha
Biography
Jayant Sinha is an Indian film dialogue writer, director, actor, and screenwriter known for his work in both Hindi and Hollywood cinema. He gained recognition as an associate writer for the film Emergency. His name was recommended to actress Kangana Ranaut by Sai Kabir, the writer-director of films like Tiku Weds Sheru and Revolver Rani.
An avid follower of renowned scriptwriting gurus such as Syd Field, Robert McKee, Blake Snyder, Lisa Arnold, and Joseph Campbell, Jayant’s approach to storytelling is deeply influenced by their teachings. His career took a significant leap in 2019 when he made his directorial debut with the Hindi feature film MehrYaar. The film, starring Prashant Narayanan, Thalavasal Vijay, Preeta Mathur, and Atul Mathur, presents a fresh lead pair and explores a compelling narrative. It revolves around the story of an educated Muslim girl who challenges the tradition of wearing a burqa, tackling societal issues with a gripping plot.
The film was shot at multiple locations across India and produced by Cinedreams Productions. It features original and background music by M. Satishchandra, while Mukesh G. and Jemin Jome handled the cinematography. The choreography was by Shri Krish, and the VFX and editing were managed by Prabha Amarnath.
Jayant Sinha is also a graduate of Canterbury University, where he earned a degree in film direction. In addition to his work in Indian cinema, he has been associated with several Hollywood films, further expanding his filmmaking horizons.
