Biography

Jeffrey Jur is an American Emmy-winning cinematographer and director of photography, born on June 13 in Chicago, Illinois. He developed an early interest in filmmaking and studied at Columbia College Chicago, where he gained hands-on experience in cinematography.

 

Jur began his career working in camera and cinematography departments and later became a director of photography on numerous films and television series. His early credits include Dirty Dancing, The Blues Brothers, Carnivàle, and You Kill Me.

 

He earned two Primetime Emmy Awards for his cinematography on Carnivàle and Bessie. He has also received recognition from the American Society of Cinematographers.

 

Jur's later television work includes How to Get Away with Murder, Westworld, Colony, Inhumans, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Bridgerton, and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. He also served as the cinematographer for the pilot episode of Grey's Anatomy.

 

With a career spanning several decades, Jeffrey Jur is recognized for his distinctive visual storytelling and extensive work across television, film, and drama productions.
