Biography
Jeffrey Waldron is an American cinematographer and director known for his work in film, television, and documentary filmmaking. Born in Houston, Texas, he spent his early years living in several cities across four countries before moving to Los Angeles to study cinematography. He earned a BA in Cinema-Television Production from the University of Southern California and an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute.
Waldron has worked as Director of Photography on numerous television projects, including A League of Their Own (2022), The Morning Show, Little Fires Everywhere, Dear White People, Gossip Girl, Teacup, English Teacher, and Daredevil: Born Again. His cinematography on A League of Their Own was featured prominently in the series' first episode.
His feature-film credits include The Dynamiter, Transpecos, You Hurt My Feelings, and Disney's Haunted Mansion. The Dynamiter earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Cinematography, while Transpecos won the Audience Award at SXSW.
Waldron has also worked extensively in documentary filmmaking. He co-directed and photographed Ghost Fleet (2018), an acclaimed documentary about migrant workers subjected to forced labor in Thailand. His documentary work has taken him to countries including Brazil, Rwanda, Thailand, Cambodia, India, and New Zealand.
In 2026, Waldron was invited to join the American Society of Cinematographers. With a career spanning narrative films, television, documentaries, and directing, he is recognized for creating visually distinctive work while focusing on human-centered stories.
