Early Life and Career

Jeo Baby developed an interest in filmmaking and began his career in Malayalam cinema as an assistant director. He gradually moved into acting and screenwriting before establishing himself as an independent filmmaker.

He made his directorial debut with Kunju Daivam (2018). The film received attention for its simple narrative and realistic treatment of contemporary life. He subsequently directed Kilometers and Kilometers (2020), starring Tovino Thomas, which was released on a digital platform during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Directorial Success

Jeo Baby achieved major recognition with The Great Indian Kitchen (2021). The film examines domestic responsibilities, patriarchal expectations, and the unequal roles assigned to women within a traditional household. Its realistic presentation and social commentary received widespread critical acclaim.

He followed it with Freedom Fight (2022), an anthology film consisting of stories addressing different forms of social inequality and personal freedom. He also directed Kaathal – The Core (2023), starring Mammootty and Jyothika. The film explored marriage, identity, family relationships and social acceptance, earning considerable critical appreciation.
