Jihan Crowther
Biography
Jihan Crowther is an American playwright, television writer, and essayist known for her work in television, theater, and literary writing. She earned an MA in Writing for Performance from Goldsmiths, University of London, and has developed plays at theaters and festivals in New York, Los Angeles, London, Edinburgh, and Montreal.
Crowther began her television career as a writer's assistant on HBO's Here and Now. She later joined the writing team of Amazon's The Man in the High Castle, working as a story editor and writer.
She was part of the creative team behind Amazon's The Underground Railroad (2021), serving as a staff writer and contributing teleplay work across the 10-episode limited series.
Crowther went on to work extensively on Daisy Jones & The Six (2023), where she served as an executive story editor and writer for television. Her credits include writing for multiple episodes of the series.
Her other major television credits include the FX/Hulu limited series Class of '09 (2023), where she worked as a writer and co-producer, and Hulu's Under the Bridge (2024), on which she served as a writer and supervising producer.
In addition to television, Crowther is an accomplished playwright and essayist. Her essays have appeared in publications including Jezebel and Esquire, while her plays have been read, produced, and developed by numerous theater organizations.
