Jishnu Raghavan
Biography
Jishnu Raghavan was an Indian actor who predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema. Born on 23 April 1979 in Kannur, Kerala, he was the son of veteran actor and filmmaker Raghavan.
Jishnu made his acting debut as a child artist in Kilippattu (1987), which was India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards. He later made his debut as a lead actor with Nammal (2002), directed by Kamal. His performance brought him widespread recognition and earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Actor.
He went on to appear in films including Choonda (2003), Valathottu Thirinjal Nalamathe Veedu (2003), Pauran (2005), Chakkara Muthu (2006), Pistah (2014), and Ordinary (2012). He also worked in Tamil and Telugu films during his career.
Jishnu was known for portraying youthful, emotional, and character-driven roles. Beyond acting, he was interested in filmmaking and directed the short film Backstage.
Jishnu Raghavan died on 25 March 2016 at the age of 36 after battling cancer. Despite his relatively short career, he left a lasting impression on Malayalam cinema through his performances and his work as part of a prominent film family.
