Biography
Jis Joy is an Indian film director, screenwriter, editor and lyricist who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. He is particularly known for making feel-good films centered on relationships, friendship and personal transformation.
Jis Joy began his career in the Malayalam film industry as a dubbing artist and lyricist, and later worked as a screenwriter and director. He made his directorial debut with Bicycle Thieves (2013), starring Asif Ali and Aparna Gopinath. The film established his interest in youthful characters and relationship-driven stories.
He gained wider recognition with Sunday Holiday (2017), a romantic comedy-drama starring Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali and Sreenivasan. The film was well received for its humour, music and emotional storytelling.
His other notable directorial works include Mohan Kumar Fans (2021), Innale Vare (2022) and Mikhael (2019). He has also directed Neram-style promotional and short-form projects and has been involved in various aspects of filmmaking.
