Biography

Kim Ji-soo, known professionally as Jisoo, is a South Korean singer and actress, born on January 3, 1995. She gained worldwide fame as a member of Blackpink, one of the most successful K-pop girl groups formed by YG Entertainment in August 2016. As the group's lead vocalist and visual, Jisoo has contributed to Blackpink's global success, with hits like DDU-DU DDU-DU, Kill This Love, and How You Like That.

 

Before her musical career, Jisoo was involved in entertainment, joining YG Entertainment in 2011 after being scouted. Her training lasted for several years, during which she honed her singing, dancing, and performance skills. She debuted with Blackpink in 2016, alongside members Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. The group quickly became one of the most prominent names in K-pop, with a massive international fan base and groundbreaking achievements in the music industry.

 

Beyond her music career, Jisoo pursued acting. She made her acting debut with a cameo appearance in the 2015 South Korean series The Producers. In 2021, Jisoo took on her first leading role in the JTBC series Snowdrop, where she portrayed the character Eun Young-ro. The drama, set in the late 1980s, became a significant project for Jisoo, earning her recognition as an actress.
