Joel Kinnaman
Biography
Joel Kinnaman, born 25 November 1979 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a Swedish-American actor known for his work in Swedish cinema, Hollywood films, and international television. He began acting as a child and later graduated from the Malmö Theatre Academy in 2007.
Kinnaman gained major recognition in Sweden for Easy Money (2010), for which he won the Guldbagge Award for Best Actor. He also became known for playing Frank Wagner in the Johan Falk crime-film series.
His international breakthrough came with AMC's crime drama The Killing (2011–2014), where he portrayed Detective Stephen Holder. He later played Alex Murphy/RoboCop in RoboCop (2014) and Rick Flag in Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021).
Kinnaman also starred as Takeshi Kovacs in the first season of Netflix's science-fiction series Altered Carbon and played Ed Baldwin, a NASA astronaut, in Apple's For All Mankind. His other notable credits include House of Cards, Hanna, The Informer, Silent Night, and Sympathy for the Devil.
With performances across crime dramas, science fiction, action films, and superhero productions, Kinnaman has established himself as one of Sweden's most internationally recognized actors.
